Cobalt MCP server
Cobalt connects to your practice's EHR, including eClinicalWorks. The Cobalt MCP server lets Claude, Claude Code, Cursor or Grok answer questions about your schedule, claims, payments and patients: read-only, and only for the people you allow.

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard AI tools use to connect to outside data. The Cobalt MCP server is part of Cobalt: it lets an AI assistant such as Claude read the practice data Cobalt has synced from your EHR, like appointments, claims, payments and patients, when you ask it a question.
Yes. Cobalt connects to practices on eClinicalWorks, and the Cobalt MCP server reads Cobalt's copy of that data. The MCP server is a Cobalt product. It is not made, endorsed or supported by eClinicalWorks.
Claude (claude.ai and Claude Desktop), Claude Code, Cursor and Grok work today. ChatGPT, OpenAI Codex and other MCP clients can be added on request: tell us which one you use when you sign up.

No. Access is read-only. Your AI can look up data but can't create, edit or delete anything in your chart, schedule or billing.
Cobalt is SOC 2 Type II and HIPAA compliant and signs a BAA with your practice. Your AI tool's own terms also apply, so use an AI plan your practice has approved for patient information.
The Cobalt MCP server comes with Practice Insights, Cobalt's AI dashboard for practices. Use the dashboard, your own AI tool, or both.
